The Family Caregiver Support Program at Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley has collaborated with the Newburyport Council on Aging (COA) to present “This Magic Moment Memory Café, Enjoying the Holidays Together”. We would like to invite you and your loved one to attend as it is an opportunity for you both to take a break from the everyday challenges of dementia and enjoy an afternoon together.
A memory café is sort of a “time out” from the challenges of memory impairment. It is a welcoming and non-judgmental place for people with Alzheimer’s or dementia and their caregivers to enjoy time some together, recovering that relationship that sometimes seems to have been lost. It is also a chance to meet others individuals with dementia and their caregivers who may be facing some of the same struggles and understand, first hand, the difficulties of the disease.
This memory café, offered free of charge, will take place on
Tuesday, December 5th
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Newburyport Council on Aging
331 High Street, Newburyport, MA.
It will feature a festive holiday-themed activity while we listen to sounds of the season and enjoy a delicious snack bar with some winter favorites like cookies and hot chocolate. In addition, a resource table will be included where you can find information on other programs and services available throughout the area.
If you and your loved one are interested in attending, please contact Cindy Hession-Richard at 978-946-1445, as registration is required.
We hope to see you there!
