Become a certified SHINE Counselor and make a real difference in your community! Provide Medicare beneficiaries in the Merrimack Valley, Cape Ann and North Shore with clear, unbiased, and confidential guidance to help them navigate their health insurance options with confidence.
As a volunteer, you’ll offer:
- Support in making sense of Medicare choices.
- Clear and simple explanations of coverage options.
- Comparisons of plans side-by-side.
- Beneficiaries the confidence to choose the coverage that best fits their budget and health care needs.
Location: Volunteers can provide counsel in-person in their preferred city or town throughout northeast Massachusetts or remotely.
Commitment: Volunteers set their own schedule, usually volunteering weekly, biweekly, or monthly.
Please note that volunteers must obtain and maintain a SHINE counseling certification, attend monthly meetings, and attend annual training held in the spring.
