Meals on Wheels

Our Meals on Wheels program delivers nutritious meals and fosters social connection for adults aged 60 and older, as well as individuals with disabilities, in the Merrimack Valley and North Shore. As part of the national Meals on Wheels network, we address hunger and isolation while promoting independence and overall well-being.

Location: Volunteers pick up prepared meals at the local senior center in their preferred city or town throughout Merrimack Valley and the North Shore.

Commitment: Volunteers can deliver from one day up to five days per week (Monday through Friday) with pickups usually being around 9AM and deliveries lasting for three to four hours.

Compensation: Volunteers can opt to receive a mileage reimbursement and/or stipend.

Please note that volunteers must have reliable personal transportation. This role may require lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, as well as getting in and out of a vehicle up to 30 times per day.

” I became involved with AgeSpan Meals on Wheels while I was between jobs and was looking for a volunteer opportunity that would give me meaningful weekly structure, a connection to the local community and opportunity to help people in need. I would highly recommend volunteering for AgeSpan’s Meals on Wheels program. It is a truly a fun and meaningful way to donate your time!”

– Carrie Endicott, former Meals on Wheels Volunteer
