Ask Joan: AgeSpan has some questions for you
October 30, 2024
Joan Hatem-Roy, Chief Executive Officer

Usually, I respond to your questions in this column. This time, however, I have some questions for you.

Every four years, AgeSpan partners with the Executive Office of Elder Affairs to conduct a comprehensive needs assessment. It is an important opportunity for me to hear from older adults and caregivers in the communities we serve about their most pressing needs and challenges. We use the results of this assessment to:

  • Determine where to direct resources and funding to address the most pressing needs.
  • Inform program development and guide the creation of tailored programs and services to ensure they are relevant and effective.
  • Foster better community engagement and ensure strong communication between our agency and the people we serve.
  • Help evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs and services and identify areas for improvement.

We need your help. If you are age 60 or over or caring for a loved one, please use this link to complete our online survey: https://app.keysurvey.com/f/41748328/8b22/.

Responses are due by November 15th.

If you prefer a paper survey, please call AgeSpan at 978-683-7747, and we will mail you a copy, along with a postage-paid return envelope. We hope you will join us in completing the survey. It will help ensure that our services are responsive, comprehensive, and aligned with the needs of older adults and their caregivers in the Merrimack Valley and North Shore. I look forward to hearing from you!
