Housing Authorities

City, county, or state housing offices that provide information about eligibility for and vacancies in the subsidized housing properties that are under their jurisdiction. Housing authorities accept Section 8 applications, provide Section 8 vouchers, make approved Section 8 rental payments and administer public housing communities while in certain rural areas, the housing finance agency may play this role.

  • Peabody Housing Authority

    The Peabody Housing Authority currently administers three housing programs, and manages 505 units of state-aided public housing. The PHA administers the Housing Choice Voucher Program(Section 8), Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program (both voucher and project based), and State Aided Public Housing for families, elderly and disabled.

  • Amesbury Housing Authority

    Amesbury Housing Authority provides state and federal affordable housing programs for elders, people with disabilities, and low-income families. Amesbury residents receive preference in the selection process. Heritage Towers, Heritage Vale, and Pow Wow Villa have one-bedroom units for elders and people with disabilities. AgeSpan manages the supportive services at these three sites.

    The Danvers Housing Authority provides decent and affordable housing. Has both Federal and State housing programs comprised of 259 residential units and 2 groups homes throughout Danvers, Massachusetts.     The Newburyport Housing Authority manages the following two elder housing sites: Horton Terrace and the Marshall Sullivan Building. Horton Terrace has 50 federally subsidized one-bedroom units with two handicap accessible units.
