Low Income/Subsidized Rental Housing

Housing programs that make rental housing more readily available to homeless people and/or low-income individuals and families (those below 50% of the area’s median income). Some complexes or housing units may be reserved for low-income older adults, people with disabilities and/or other special populations.

    An apartment community offering one and two-bedroom apartments.   • Rachel Corliss Congregate

    This Congregate Living site houses 21 individuals. Each unit is a studio apartment with private bedroom, kitchenette, and half bathroom (toilet and sink); 4 shared shower room (2 handicapped accessible shower rooms on each floor).   • McComish Courts

    This housing is located at 22 Mystic Street and is managed by the Methuen Housing Authority. It has 64 one bedroom units, some of which are handicap accessible. AgeSpan provides supportive services to eligible residents.

  • Sullivan Building

    The Marshall Sullivan Building has 100 one-bedroom units, 4 of which are handicap accessible. AgeSpan provides supportive services to eligible elder residents. This is state subsidized housing that is managed by the Newburyport Housing Authority.

  • Mission Towers

    This is housing for elders that is privately managed by Bethany Community Services. There are studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. Services available include meals, trips, beautician/barber services, housekeeping, wellness clinics, and activities. There is a Resident Services Coordinator on-site 2 days/week and a nurse on-site 3 days/week.
