Single Room Occupancy Housing

Single room occupancy housing, which may include shared bath or kitchen facilities, that is owned and maintained by nonprofit and/or public organizations and is made available to eligible individuals at low rates. Also included are hotels that have been converted for use as single room occupancy housing.

  • Merrimack Valley YMCA

  • Wadleigh House

    This co-ed housing program of the North Shore YMCA consists of enhanced single room occupancy units for 22 individuals. These apartments offer a large living area, a kitchenette and a personal bathroom. Each is furnished with a bed and clothing cabinet. There is a coin operated laundry on-site.

  • Evergreen Place

    Evergreen Place is permanent housing for homeless adults with priority given to elders. Evergreen Place has 21 unfurnished single room units each with private bath and kitchenette. There are shared full kitchen areas and laundry facilities on each floor. AgeSpan provides service coordination and support services. This property is owned and managed by Emmaus Inc.

  • YWCA Women’s Residence

    This program offers 11 affordable rooms for women. Each room is furnished with a bed and dresser and is wired for telephone, cable and internet service which is activated and paid by resident if she so chooses. Women share bathroom facilities, a large Victorian kitchen, pantry and parlor.

  • Haverhill YMCA

    The Haverhill YMCA’s facility provides 52 SRO (single room occupancy) units for low income qualifying candidates.
