Long-Term Care Ombudsman

Become a certified Ombudsman and help protect the rights and wellbeing of residents in assisted living, nursing, and rest homes by working alongside program staff.

Help improve life for people living in nursing and rest homes by speaking up for residents at your assigned facility. You’ll be a helpful link between residents, families, staff, and others to help solve any concerns or complaints.

  • Fill out a volunteer application
  • Meet with our Volunteer Programs Staff and Program Director for a casual interview
  • Complete and pass a CORI background check
  • Attend a General Volunteer Orientation to learn more about AgeSpan and our mission
  • Reliable transportation
  • Basic comfort with technology (email, Word, Teams, Zoom, etc.)
