Long-Term Care Ombudsman
Become a certified Ombudsman and help protect the rights and wellbeing of residents in assisted living, nursing, and rest homes by working alongside program staff.
Role of the Long-Term Care Ombudsman volunteer:
Help improve life for people living in nursing and rest homes by speaking up for residents at your assigned facility. You’ll be a helpful link between residents, families, staff, and others to help solve any concerns or complaints.
Program Requirements
- Fill out a volunteer application
- Meet with our Volunteer Programs Staff and Program Director for a casual interview
- Complete and pass a CORI background check
- Attend a General Volunteer Orientation to learn more about AgeSpan and our mission
- Reliable transportation
- Basic comfort with technology (email, Word, Teams, Zoom, etc.)
