The mission of the NAIC is to assist state insurance regulators, individually and collectively, in serving the public interest and achieving their regulatory goals which include protecting the public interest; promoting competitive markets; facilitating fair and equitable treatment of consumers; promoting reliability, solvency and financial solidity of insurance institutions; and supporting and improving state regulation of insurance. NAIC offers a number of consumer publications including some on long-term care insurance.
