Community Action Inc. (Amesbury)

Community Action, Inc. Amesbury Center offers the following support services: a food pantry, clothing bank, emergency food/ shelter/ rent/ utility program (EFSP), heating assistance, and the WIC program. It also provides referrals as well as assistance to people facing homelessness or utility shutoffs or having difficulty meeting household expenses.

The Food Pantry is open to residents of Amesbury, Merrimac, Newburyport, Newbury, West Newbury and Salisbury twice a month.

Their clothing bank is also available at this location from donations of local residents and community members.

Fuel assistance eligibility is based on total gross annual income for all household members and family size. The program is in operation November 1 to April 30. The Heating Emergency Assistance Program offers emergency service to eligible low income households who are having problems with the operation of their primary heating system.

Both the food pantry and clothing bank have no income requirements; proof of residency is required. Appointments are currently required to use the clothing bank.
