Community Resources
Programs that provide hot meals on a regular basis primarily for older adults who may be at risk for nutritional deficits and social isolation without assistance. Congregate meals are often combined with recreational, educational and social activities, and programs may include access to health services and/or information. Some programs are also open to caregivers, spouses and/or adults with disabilities.
This is a transitional congregate site located on Wilson Street that houses 4 individuals (males and females) and is managed by the Chelmsford Housing Authority. It is a four-bedroom unit that offers a shared bathroom and kitchen. Residents shop individually and if needed have meal preparation hours. AgeSpan manages the supportive services.
This center is a not-for-profit agency that provides free, nutritious meals in a safe environment. Free meals are served to guests at tables by volunteeer waiters and waitresses. The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church offers St. Basil’s Kitchen every Monday throughout the year from 11am-12:30 pm. Anyone in need of food and companionship is welcome. It also has a small food pantry so that guests can take home some food. Volunteers are needed for this program from 11:30am – 1pm.
