Andover Council on Aging/Robb Senior Center

The Robb Senior Center offers Meals on Wheels, hot lunches Monday-Friday, wellness clinics, special interest courses, a fix-it-shop, health insurance counseling, tax form preparation assistance, transportation to medical appointments, social outings, and support groups.

The Parkinson’s Disease support group meets the second Thursday of the month from 1:30pm-3:00pm at the Center. It runs September through June.

Their Senior Connections Social Day Program, is designed to meet a variety of senior needs through structured programming. It offers a supportive environment for adults facing life changes enabling them to live at home and to remain active in the community. A registered nurse and a licensed Social Worker work with families and other health care professionals to meet the individual social and medical needs of the participants. Daily programming includes companionship, socialization, individual and group activities, a noon-time meal and afternoon snacks, health monitoring and supportive counseling.

Andover Elder Services has launched the Connections at Home Companion Program, a new At-Home Companion Program. Designed to enhance socialization, this program will connect clients with a qualified staff companion at-home for engaging activities such as socializing, sharing meals, walks, and games.

Andover on The Go is a new transportation program made available through the Robb Center from a partnership to provide rides for Andover residents to the center or medical appointments. First two rides of the month are free; rides in and out of town are available as the service will travel up to a 30 mile radius of Andover.

The Robb Center currently provides supported medical rides through a pilot program from MassDOT to residents within a 30 mile radius of the Center. They have contracted with Seniors Helping Seniors to provide a HHA who attends the appointment, drives the resident and assists to settle them back into the home following the appointment. The resident will need to pay for mileage, any parking costs, and tolls.
