This is an emergency shelter with 8 rooms that includes 41 beds and 7 cribs. It is divided into three sections: families, single men and single women. It provides a safe, clean and supportive environment for individuals and families seven days per week. Guests are provided with three meals, a place to sleep, showers and laundry services, as well as counseling and referrals for community support. The shelter program requires all guests to develop and adhere to a personal program that addresses structure, planning for the future, and how to save money while staying at the shelter.
Lazarus House orperates thrift stores at the following three locations: Good Shepherd Thrift Store, 412 Hampshire St; Saint Martin’s Thrift Store, 121 Essex St; and St. Frances & St. Clare Thrift Store, 229 South Union St. Their days of operation are Mondays through Saturdays.
