Citizens Energy Corporation is a non-profit organization that assist eligible household who have a financial hardship and need help paying their heating bills. There are no citizenship requirements. The company has made the move from only providing crude oil and has expanded into renewable energy and transmission projects while still focusing on assisting low-income households.
Their program Joe-4-Sun MA is available to low-income Massachusetts residents who receive and Eversource or National Grid electric bills. Joe-4-Sun RAP is available to Massachusetts residents who belong to specific communities in the state such as members of the Mashpee or Aquinnah Wampanoag Tribes.
