Rebuilding Together

This is a non-profit organization which sponsors a Rebuilding Day usually on the last Saturday in April. Typical work projects include painting, electrical and plumbing repair, yard work and safety modifications. All repairs are provided free of charge by volunteers. To qualify an applicant must meet low income guidelines and own and occupy his/her own home in Haverhill, Boxford, Groveland, Georgetown, Merrimac, West Newbury or Plaistow NH. Throughout the year, critical home repair or accessibility modifications are completed for low-income Haverhill homeowners using a combination of paid contractors and volunteers. This organization also offers a Grab Bar Program, administered by an occupational therapist, which is part of the Falls Prevention Initiative. Qualified applicants will have grab bars installed at no cost. Training and education regarding the use of the grab bars may be provided through the recipient’s insurance company.
