Brain Injury & Statewide Specialized Community Servs
BISSCS (formerly SHIP) is part of the Community Living Division of Mass Rehab Commission. MRC offers many resources and services for Mass residents who have sustained an externally caused traumatic brain injury. It has a network of community-based services and supports that assist individuals in maintaining or increasing their level of independence at home, work and in their communities.
These supports include service coordination, regional service centers, community residential support services, recreation programs, and substance abuse treatment. It is a completely state funded program whose budget is determined annually by the legislature.
