American Cancer Society

This office covers the Merrimack Valley area in Massachusetts. It offers the following services: transportation to appointments, support groups, prevention information and wig banks. It does not have an equipment loan program. The transportation program is a volunteer service for patients who have cancer who have no other means of getting to their doctor appointments and medical treatments or other cancer-related appointments. Patients must be ambulatory but can use canes, walkers, crutches and light-weight wheelchairs if they are able to get in/out of a car on their own and walk a short distance. Patients using oxygen tanks are eligible for this service. Transportation is subject to the availability of volunteer drivers. Rides to treatment and returning home.
