Programs that teach people who are blind and other interested individuals to read and write using Braille, a system that uses raised dots to represent numerals and letters of the alphabet which can be identified by the fingers.
Perkins Brailler Store offers Perkins braillers, smart braillers, training, and consulting services to bring greater independence to people of all ages who are blind, visually impaired or learning disabled. The library is located on the campus of Perkins School for the Blind and provides free services to Massachusetts residents of any age who are unable to read traditional printed materials due to a visual or physical disability. It loans braille and recorded materials and the digital player necessary to listen to them.
Lowell Association for the Blind (LAB) offers a variety of programs and services for youth and adults. It has an Adult Program that meets twice a week at the center or out in the community.
