Rebranding Frequently Asked Questions

Why did we rebrand?

Rebranding often includes changing an organization’s name, logo, and image to best represent itself and connect with its audiences. Our leadership began considering a rebrand prior to the 2019 merger between Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley and North Shore Elder Services. In 2020, we hired a branding and graphic design agency and conducted staff interviews, an agency-wide survey, held focus groups, and researched the aging services marketplace. The information we gathered aided us in creating a new name, logo, brand identity, and website to highlight all that our agency does.

Why did our name change?

We want our name to reflect our expanded service area, the increased number of programs we offer, and the diverse individuals and communities we serve. Our agency helps older adults and younger people, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and family members. In addition, we have added many new programs and services to serve people in more than 28 cities and towns, statewide, and across New England. Along with a new name, we have a new website, www.AgeSpan.org, which has a user-friendly design so you can find what you need more easily. Even if you type in our old name, you will automatically be directed to the new site.

Does the name change mean the agency is different?

Just the opposite! This rebranding means we now have a name and an identity that better reflects all that we do and the wide variety of people we serve. We believe this name will serve us well for decades to come as we continue to be the compassionate agency everyone has known, while remaining innovative leaders in aging services. The programs we offer, and our staff have not changed. People can expect the same high level of service they have always received.

What about contact information?

Our phone numbers and addresses are not changing. All employees have a new email address, however, if you send a message to the old address, it will automatically be sent to the employee. We do recommend updating your records. Also, the same applies to our website. If you type in our old website address, you will automatically be sent to the new site.

What about social media?

Our social media channels have been updated with our new name on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. You don’t have to like a new page or go looking for us.
